Bilstein Group reduces its CO2 footprint thanks to green steel supplied by H2 Green Steel

 

 

H2 Green Steel has been awarded a contract worth over €250 million to supply low carbon footprint steel to Bilstein Group, a global manufacturer of cold-rolled steel strip used in the automotive, residential and construction sectors. Bilstein Group has previously worked with H2 Green Steel (it was one of the very first investors) to reduce emissions from its supply chain where hot rolled steel represents over 90% of the group's final product footprint. This new agreement, lasting seven years, will further strengthen the collaboration between the two partners now aimed at the development of new types of sustainable steels and a circular model of recovery-recycling of scrap from Bilstein production sites. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2026 from the H2 Green Steel plant in Boden, Sweden.

The contract now signed is an important milestone for our company on the road to significantly reducing our carbon footprint as quickly as possible and ensuring that much of our raw material supply is “green” by the end of the decade. This agreement brings the BILSTEIN GROUP an important step forward towards the ambitious CO2 emission reduction goals we have set for ourselves."
